Luis Santi

Luis Santi Fernández (born December 10, 1931 in Havana ) is a Cuban pianist, singer and band leader.

Santi began his musical training at the age of twelve with Digna Castillo Soler and José Bolivia . His first instrument was the guitar, and his mother introduced him to the beginnings of playing the piano. As an interpreter of Orlando de La Rosa's song Nuestro encuentro , he appeared on the radio program La Corte Suprema in 1946 and won a prize.

He continued his piano training with Oscar Muñoz Bouffartique and José Luis and founded his first band at the age of sixteen, which made its professional debut in 1948. The first singers to appear with his band were Carlos Díaz , Colacho Alonso and Pitín Rodríguez . 1950 Díaz was replaced by Felo Martínez , who came from the Hermanos Díaz . With this trio cast Santi's group appeared in the daily Show de la mañana . From 1970 Santi lived in Miami.
