Luis d'Antin

Luis d'Antin (born January 2, 1963 in Madrid ) is a former Spanish motorcycle racer and team boss in the motorcycle world championship .

Career

As a racing driver

Like many other great Grand Prix riders, Luis d'Antin began his career at a very young age in motocross .

He later switched to road racing and took part in the Spanish championship in the 125 cc and the supersport class. In 1991 he won the European Supersport Championship and the Spanish Supersport Championship on a Honda .

In 1992, d'Antin moved to the 250 cc class of the motorcycle world championship , where he competed first on Honda until 1998 and later on Yamaha . He had his best season in 1996 , when he finished sixth overall with a second place in Austria and a third place at the Malaysian Grand Prix with 138 points.

As a team boss

After the end of his active career, d'Antin founded his own team. From 1999 to 2001 they started in the 250 cm³ class. In 2002 D'Antin MotoGP then moved to the newly created MotoGP class. Yamaha machines were used in the 2002 and 2003 seasons, and the team has been using Ducati motorcycles since 2004 , now under the name Pramac Racing . Luis d'Antin himself left the team in 2008.
