Luisenklippe

The Luisenklippe is a rock formation in the Harz Mountains in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located on the right side high above the Selketal , northeast of Alexisbad . North of the cliff, the Habichtstein falls steeply towards the Selke . The cliff path and the Selketalstieg run a little to the east .

The cliff is named after Luise von Anhalt-Bernburg , for whom the Luise Temple was built a little southwest of the cliff . The Luisenklippe serves as a lookout point and is secured with a railing. The view from the cliff into the Selketal is restricted by vegetation (as of 2017). The lookout point was created in 1897. It was repaired in 2002.
