Luisito Carrión

Luisito Carrión (born October 26, 1962 in Arecibo , Puerto Rico ), actually Ángel Luis Carrión Cáceres, is a salsa musician who is currently counted among the best artists of the Son Boricua style.

Career

Luisito Carrión became interested in salsa at an early age. He was inspired by his father Angel Ruiz Carrión, who was the musical director of the Orquesta Kafé group and played salsa, boleros and merengue. Luisito Carrión started out as a trumpet player in the Orquesta Kafé, until he lost several teeth after a car accident in 1980 and could no longer play the trumpet. Carrión began a solo career after playing for a while in the Orquester of Bobby Valentín since 1984 . After appearances in Puerto Rico and Cali / Colombia , his songs became famous for their energetic and charismatic salsa rhythms. His greatest hits include songs like: "Presumida", "Nadie como Tú", "Amiga Mía", "Muriendo", "Un Buen Cuento De Amantes", "Modelo De La Noche" and "Tu Amante Y Tu Amigo" ". Carrión does not see himself as Salsero or Sonero, “Yo hago música para el bailador y para el pueblo. - I make music for the dancer and for the people ”.
