Luitgard of Tübingen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Luitgard of Tübingen (* around 1240 ; † November 13, 1309 ; buried in Reuthin Monastery ) was Countess Palatine of Tübingen and heiress of Horb .

Life

Luitgard von Tübingen was a daughter of Hugo IV. († 1267), Count Palatine of Tübingen and Count of Horb, and his wife Beatrix von Eberstein. Luitgard married Count Burkhard IV von Hohenberg in 1294 and had three children with him:

  • Otto I, Count of Hohenberg zu Nagold († July 12, 1299)
  • Burchard V, Count of Hohenberg zu Wildberg († April 10, 1353 - September 2, 1355)
  • Agnes Countess of Hohenberg

After the death of her childless brothers, Luitgard came to the Palatinate- Horbian property, so that her husband, Burkhard IV, Count von Hohenberg, appeared for the first time as lord of Horb in 1302. Burkhard had previously received the districts of Nagold, Haiterbach, Wildberg and Altenstaig as non-imperial loanable, partly married lords.

Together with her husband, she generously sponsored the convent of Reuthin Monastery.
