The house on Luitpoldstrasse

The house at Luitpoldstraße 20 (formerly house number 113) is a listed building in the heart of the Lower Franconian Prichsenstadt .

history

The house at Luitpoldstrasse 20 was inhabited by the Kuss family for a long time. A certain willing weber kiss allowed the property to be built at the end of the 17th century. He did not become a citizen of the city of Prichsenstadt until 1695 , two years later the current building was probably already completed. It is unclear whether the Thirty Years War destroyed the previous building; the location on the edge of the so-called suburb may also suggest a completely new building near the city fortifications.

Members of the Kuss family still lived in the house in 1744, which, with its carnies profiles on the ground floor, looks older than it was in the 17th century. In contrast, the house is one of the few in Prichsenstadt that has not undergone any subsequent renovation. The house at Luitpoldstrasse 20 is classified as a historical building by the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments . Underground remains of any previous buildings are recorded as ground monuments . The house is also part of the Prichsenstadt old town ensemble .

description

The house was built on a corner lot and was therefore built with two wings. It presents itself as a two-storey hipped roof structure , which was equipped with a gate passage in the direction of Luitpoldstrasse. The upper floor was built with an ornamental framework . The gate passage was decorated with a narrow edge profile, while the front door has a drilled and fascinated frame with buttons. Above the door there is a skylight, an intermediate lintel was decorated with the year 1697.

The half-timbered upper floor was decorated with a wealth of shapes in the direction of Luitpoldstrasse. It has similar elements to the house at Schulinstrasse 7 . Edge dew sticks were attached to the corner posts . The parts of the house protruding towards the side street were made simpler. Inside the gate building was equipped with only one single chamber, which was worked as a representative showroom with compass stucco and medallions . Among other things, the coat of arms of the landlord and monograms were painted. A bundle of fruit can be seen in the center.
