Lujza Blaha
Lujza Blaha (born September 8, 1850 in Rimaszombat , Kingdom of Hungary , † January 18, 1926 in Budapest ), née Ludovika Reindl , was a Hungarian actress and singer.
Life
The daughter of a hussar officer who was drawn to the theater was already on stage at the age of six. In 1871 she made her debut at the Hungarian National Theater ( Nemzeti színház ). From 1875 she became the “nightingale of the nation” in the popular theater plays at the Budapest Népszínház (People's Theater). The square in front of the Népszínház was named after her. The metro line 2 station located there is called Blaha Lujza tér. In Balatonfüred , where she spent her summer retreat for many years, a memorial was erected for her.
