Lukas Christinat

Lukas Christinat (born September 27, 1965 in Burgdorf , Canton of Bern ) is a Swiss horn player. He has been principal horn player in the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra since 1991 and lecturer in horn and chamber music at the Lucerne School of Music since 2000 .

Life

Christinat grew up in Burgdorf. After leaving school, he studied with Francesco Raselli at the Lucerne Conservatory . After his death he continued his studies at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen with Hermann Baumann . In 1990 Lukas Christinat completed his studies with Jakob Hefti at the Lucerne Conservatory with a soloist diploma. Since 1991 he has been principal horn in the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra and was a prize winner at the “Edwin Fischer Memorial Prize” and the “Friedel Wald Foundation”. Concerts and master classes take him to Europe, USA, Brazil, China and Japan. He is a member of the Chamber Soloists Lucerne and the Swiss Brass Consort. Since autumn 2000 he has been a lecturer for horn and chamber music at the Lucerne School of Music. He also teaches at the Sarnen Music School , is the initiator of the Obwalden International Horn Festival and heads the Obwalden horn group.
