Pulmologie Gaisbühel

The Gaisbühel Lung Sanatorium is located in the Gaisbühel district in the municipality of Bludesch and to the northwest in the municipality of Schlins . Its use as a hospital has been discontinued and the building is now used to accommodate refugees.

hospital

In 1915 the KuK government reported the need for tuberculosis sanctuaries . The Gaisbühel Lung Sanatorium was built between 1917 and 1920 according to plans by the architect Willibald Braun . 140 Serbian prisoners of war were also used to build the access road. The hospital was opened on August 11, 1920. In June 1921, the destruction of the Nenzing water supply by a landslide forced the institution to be evacuated for sanitary reasons; the patients were housed in the Valduna charity and in institutions in Tyrol. In 1981 the lung sanatorium was incorporated into the Feldkirch State Hospital . In 2008 the building was empty, the pulmonology department was relocated to the Hohenems regional hospital , and the internal E to the Rankweil regional hospital .

chapel

The chapel is a vaulted prayer room. In the organ niche is the painting Christ as a Samaritan by L. Scheel from 1923. In the altar niche are a crucifix and four evangelist symbols as mosaic work and Mary with child as a figure by Jakob Summer from 1968.
