Lunnyj Island ( English ; Russian Остров Лунный Ostrow Lunny , German 'moon island' ) is an island off the Ingrid Christensen coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land . In the group of the Rauer Islands , it is 3.2 km north of the northeastern extension of Filla Island .
Scientists of a Soviet Antarctic Expedition charted and named it in 1956. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia transferred this designation in a transcribed portion of translation into English.
