Lustral is a British trance project made up of Rick Simmonds and Stephen Jones . The duo has also produced under a variety of other aliases such as Chakra , The Space Brothers , Ascension , Essence , Force Majeure , Oxygen and The Realm and have had 21 songs in the UK charts to date.
Career
Simmonds and Jones have been working together on various music projects since 1996. They had their first successes in 1997 as a chakra with the songs I Am and Shine , which were ranked 24th, respectively. 23, hit the UK singles chart. The singles Someone (as Ascension), Everytime (as Lustral) and Forgiven (as The Space Brothers), also released in 1997 , also reached chart positions. With Home , another successful single was released under the pseudonym Chakra, which was the first remix project that finally led to the foundation of Above & Beyond .
The single "Everytime" was re-released in 1999, including remixes by Mike Koglin and Way Out West alongside the original remix by Nalin & Kane . This time the single reached number 30.
In 2008 the album Interpretations was released with downtempo / ambient interpretations of some of their most famous trance classics. A year later, the double CD Lustral presents Trance Classics followed with a collection of original versions of their trance classics on the first CD and the ambient versions of the album Interpretations on the second CD.
In addition to their activities as trance producers, the duo has also produced music for the television series The Sopranos and the film Password: Swordfish . Together they also founded the online music service Audiojelly.com in 2004 .
