Per Laursen (born April 16, 1966 ) is a Danish dart player who currently plays for the PDC . From 1987 to 2007 he played for the BDO .

Career

On his TV debut with the BDO, Laursen beat the number five seeded Englishman Tony Eccles in the first round, but then lost to Shaun Greatbatch in the second round. He then moved to the PDC, where he took part in the 2007 World Championship and won 3-0 in the first round against Colin Monk , but then lost to Dennis Priestley 3-4 , although he was already in the lead 3-1 and eight Had match darts.

Because of the Danish qualification system, he was allowed to take part in the 2008 World Cup, but lost 3-1 in the first round against Alan Tabern .

Although Laursen won few titles outside of Denmark, he is one of the best players in Denmark. Among other things, he is three-time Danish champion (2004, 2007 and 2008) and reached the final of the Danish Open in 2006 , where he lost to Vincent van der Voort .

Laursen was also allowed to take part in the PDC World Darts Championship 2009 because he had taken first place in the Danish ranking list. In the first round, however, he was beaten 1: 3 by Wes Newton .

In 2010 Denmark had lost its direct place in the main draw, so that he had to take part in the international preliminary round. Here, however, he lost 3: 4 legs against Christian Perez from the Philippines.

Denmark also had no direct seat at the PDC World Darts Championship 2011 , so that he had to go through the preliminary round again. Here he won 4-2 against Boris Krcmar from Croatia. Then he was allowed to play against John Part , against whom he won 3-0. In the second round he met Phil Taylor , against whom he clearly lost 4-0, although he played an average of over 90 points.
