María Luz Casal Paz (born November 11, 1958 in Boimorto , Galicia ) is a Spanish singer . She grew up in Asturias and later moved to Madrid .

Her hits in the 1980s were Rufino by Elena Santonja , Un nuevo día brillará , a version of Duel au Soleil by Étienne Daho and the soundtrack by Tacones Lejanos . In the 1990s she sang songs such as Besaré el suelo by Carlos Goñi or Negra sombra by Rosalía de Castro .
