Lyall Basin

The Lyall Basin is a lake basin in the Somow Sea off the Pennell coast of East Antarctica, Victoria .
It is named after the naming of the neighboring Lyall Islands . It is named after David Lyall (1817–1895), assistant surgeon on the research vessel HMS Terror during the Antarctic expedition (1839–1843) of the British polar explorer James Clark Ross .
