Lyddan Bank

The Lyddan Bank ( English ) is a bank in the Weddell Sea . It is located off the Princess Martha coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land at a depth of at least 200 m below sea level .
It was named at the suggestion of the surveyor and glaciologist Heinrich Hinze from the Alfred Wegener Institute based on the name of the neighboring Lyddan Island . It is named after Robert Henry Lyddan (1910–1990), an employee of the United States Geological Survey , who has been involved in the planning and management of Antarctic mapping since the 1950s. The designation was confirmed in June 1997 by the US Advisory Committee for Undersea Features (ACUF).
