History and description

The house was built in the middle of the 16th century and remodeled in the 19th century. The sgraffiti were restored in 1913 and 1992. The building has three floors and four window axes . The ground floor and first floor are partially vaulted . The west facade is completed by a parapet with a round arch and six battlements. An underlying niche for a saint figure is empty. The house shares a hipped roof with the neighboring building . Like this one, it is richly adorned with sgraffiti. They show biblical, figurative, floral and heraldic motifs. This includes a scene from the Bible with Samson's fight with the lion on the top floor . To the right of it is a German inscription in a sgraffito with an allegorical female figure representing virtue or truth:

Inscription from 1557

"DISTEL VND DOREN STEO
MEN SER VALSCHEN ZV
NGEN NOR L HERE
I WANT TO LIKE SONGS IN DISTEL
VND DOREN BADEN AI (?) WITH
VALSCHEN ZVNGEN
BLADEN 1557."

Thistles and thorns sting very much, false tongues even more. [But] I would rather bathe in thistles and thorns than be laden with false tongues. 1557 . The investigation in 1992 revealed twenty layers of paint on the facade. The lower section of the facade was not to reconstruct and display today in graffiti executed rustication .

At Heydl-Haus No. 28, however, a battle between Heracles and Centaurs and other opponents is shown. A procession of Bacchus can be seen above.
