Lydia Schenardi

Lydia Schénardi (born June 27, 1952 in Montreuil ) is a French politician who used to belong to the National Front .

Schénardi was a member of the Île-de-France Regional Council from 1998 to 2004. In 2003, however, she moved to the Alpes-Maritimes department . After she ran for the first unsuccessful candidate for the European Parliament in 1994 , she finally managed to move in in 2004 on the list of the constituency of Sud-Est. After the identity, tradition and sovereignty faction was dissolved there, it belonged to the European Parliament as a non-attached MP until its departure in 2009. From 2008 to 2015 she was a member of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur regional council , and since 2014 she has also been a member of the Menton City Council .

Until his death in 2004, Schénardi was married to Jean-Pierre Schénardi , who also belonged to the National Front and was a member of the National Assembly from 1986 to 1988 . In August 2015 she left the National Front in protest against the expulsion of the party founder Jean-Marie Le Pen and due to further disputes with Florian Philippot .
