Lykos (son of Pandion)

Lykos ( Greek  Λύκος ), the son of Pandion and Pylia , was the brother of Aigeus , Nisus and Pallas in Greek mythology .

Pandion, the son of Kekrops , was king of Attica , was overthrown by the sons of Metion and fled to Megara . Later his sons recaptured Attica. While Aigeus ascended the throne of Athens and Attica, Lykos received Euboea . However, he was driven out by Aigeus and initially escaped to Andania in Messenia . Lykos is said to have brought the Demeter cult from Athens to Andania, which was worshiped here in an oak grove.

Then Lykos came to Sarpedon in the land of the Solymer. The termiles who lived there were named Lycians and the land of Lycia after him .

Lycus was venerated as a hero in Athens and a temple of Apollo was named after him, Apollon Lykeios . He is also said to have been a prophet and the Athenian Lykomedai family derived their name from him. They were closely related to the Attic Mysteries and owned chapels in Demos Phylai and Andania.
