L-selectin (synonym L-selectin , CD62L ) is a surface protein from the group of selectins .

properties

L-selectin is a lectin and participates in the cell adhesion of lymphocytes (B and T) in an immune reaction . It mediates cell contacts between lymphocytes and endothelial cells in lymph nodes . It is involved in the rolling of the lymphocytes along the cell surfaces. L-selectin is glycosylated .
