The Lynas is an Australian Seltenerdhersteller . He operates the Mount Weld mine in Western Australia and a processing plant in Kuantan , Malaysia .

The company was founded as Yilgangi Gold NL in 1983, but the gold business was sold in 2001. After Mount Weld opened in 2011, full production was achieved in 2014 and 19,737 tons of rare earth oxides were produced for 2019.

After Molycorp went bankrupt in mid-2015, Lynas is the only remaining rare earth producer outside of China.
