Lyncombe Farm

The Lyncombe Farm is located in the Exmoor National Park in the southwestern English county of Somerset .

Lyncombe Farm is located near the village of Winsford, 5 miles northwest of the town of Dulverton , in the parish of Winsford and less than 2 miles east of the village of Exford. The River Exe flows right past the farmhouse.

The farmhouse dates back to the late 16th or 17th centuries. It has a traditional three-room layout with crossed corridors. A chimney is equipped with a bread oven. The building has a stair tower in which there are still original, split windows.

The building was modified in the late 18th century or early 19th century. New windows were installed and later expanded. In 1851 the farm owned an area of ​​268 acres , which is about 108 hectares .

The building with its surrounding area was the filming location for the 1988 English love drama Ein ficksalhafter Sommer (original title: A Summer Story ) with Imogen Stubbs and James Wilby in the leading roles.
