Lynn Ahrens
Lynn Ahrens (born October 1, 1948 ) is an American musical theater poet.
Live and act
Ahrens often works with Stephen Flaherty and the two are best known for the play Once on This Island , which was nominated for eight Tony Awards , and for Ragtime , which was nominated for eleven Tony Awards and won the Best Original Score . They also worked together on the songs for the film Anastasia . Lynn Ahrens also gained popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s through her musical work on the animated series Schoolhouse Rock and PSAs on ABC and Captain Kangaroo on CBS .
She is a graduate of Syracuse University . She met Stephen Flaherty in 1982 in a BMI workshop and began working with him in 1983.
