Lynn Turner

Lynn Turner , in some sources also Lynne (* 1941 (?) In St. Louis , Missouri ) is an American harpist .

Life

At the age of four, Turner and her family moved to Boston . At the age of eight she received piano lessons from her mother there. When she was ten, her father, who was a violinist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for many years , took her to the harp. She later studied with Pierre Jamet in Paris and received her degree with top honors. In 1962 she won the second international harp competition in Israel , in the same year she won an audition with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Fritz Reiner . At that time she was the youngest musician in an American orchestra.
