Girls is a youth magazine especially for young girls in German-speaking countries.

history

The magazine was published by the Marquard Media Group from 1976 . In 1999 it was taken over by Axel Springer Verlag , which in 2009 sold it to Vision Media GmbH, which belongs to OZ Verlag . In 2014 the frequency of publication was changed from bi-weekly to monthly and in 2018 Egmont Ehapa Media took over the magazine.

Target group and classic categories

The target group are girls between the ages of 12 and 17. The topics range from fashion and cosmetics to real-life reports and news about stars, music and current trends. A special focus is personal advice in the areas of love , sex and puberty .

Edition

Girls has lost a lot of circulation in recent years . The number of copies sold has fallen by 84.9 percent since 1998. It is currently 47,293 copies. This corresponds to a decrease of 266,922 units. The share of subscriptions in the circulation sold is 17.1 percent.
