The private girls' school St. Gertrudis is a general high school as well as a secondary school in Ellwangen .

history

The girls' school, which was founded in 1895 at the behest of the pastor at the time and initially only consisted of a secondary school, was initially in a private apartment in the city center with only 18 students. The carrier was initially a private GmbH . In 1903 a school building of their own could be built below the Buchenberg. In 1925, the original school authorities disbanded and the Franciscan Sisters of Sießen took over the sponsorship. Three years later she was baptized in the name of St. Gertrudis .

In the post-war years, the school was expanded extensively due to the steadily increasing number of students. In 2001, a high school move was finally added. From the school year 2008/2009, boys in the upper school (from grade 10) can also acquire a general high school diploma at St. Gertrudis (Realschulaufsetzer).

St. Gertrudis is a state-recognized private school and requires school fees.
