The congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Sießen is a Catholic women's congregation with the aim of educating and educating young women. history

In 1854, the order of the school sisters of St. Francis was founded in Oggelsbeuren and recognized by Bishop Josef von Lipp von Rottenburg as an independent congregation. The congregation's first educational institution was also located in Attenweiler. M. Serafina Model from Dillingen became the first superior . In 1860 the order moved to the former Dominican convent in Sießen . The sisters expanded their activities to include various Catholic elementary schools. They also founded various schools with the aim of higher general education for girls and young women. In 1992 a new school profile was drawn up, which should lead the schools into the future. The core elements are the Franciscan values ​​and traditions, the type of teaching with a focus on achievement, subject teaching, free work , project work and morning circles as well as life at the school through supervision and care. In 1996 the Sießener Schools GmbH was founded to support all of these schools. In the period that followed, more girls' schools were built and put into operation.

Schools run by the Franciscan Sisters of Sießen are the elementary, girls 'and boys' secondary school St. Bernhard in Bad Mergentheim , the girls 'school St. Gertrudis in Ellwangen , the girls' high school St. Agnes in Stuttgart , the girls 'secondary school, the girls' high school and the vocational high school St. Klara in Rottenburg am Neckar , the girls and boys secondary school St. Elisabeth in Friedrichshafen , the Franziskus elementary school in Schwäbisch Gmünd and the Franziskus grammar school in Mutlangen .
