Josef von Lipp, the second bishop of Rottenburg

Josef Lipp , from 1848 by Lipp , (born March 24, 1795 in Holzhausen , † May 3, 1869 in Rottenburg am Neckar ) was the Roman Catholic Bishop of Rottenburg .

Life

He studied theology at the universities in Ellwangen and Tübingen from 1815 to 1818 and was ordained a priest in 1819. In 1825 he taught at the grammar school in Ehingen (Danube) , in 1833 he was appointed rector there. In 1845 he became dean and pastor in Ehingen with the title of councilor. In 1847 he was elected Second Bishop of Rottenburg and consecrated on March 19, 1848.

He always let the mandate associated with the episcopate in the second chamber of the Württemberg state parliament rest.

He found his final resting place in the bishop's crypt in the Sülchen cemetery church .

Honors, ennobling

Josef Lipp received 1848 Kommenturkreuz of the Order of Württemberg crown , which with the personal needle tracks ( Nobilitierung ) was connected. He was also honored with the Grand Cross of the Order of Frederick and the KK Mexican Guadalupe Order .
