A mowing boat is a watercraft used to remove aquatic plants, sometimes called a manatee .

Vigorously growing aquatic plants are often a problem in stagnant or slow-flowing water , as they encourage the appearance of suspended matter and impair the cleanliness of the water. In addition, vegetation in flood protection facilities or sluices can prevent the passage and lead to flooding. Therefore attempts are made to remove this vegetation with mowing boats. Mowing boats usually have cutting bars that are adjustable in height and angle for separating the plants and often also have a device for collecting the plants. Otherwise the plants will be removed by the current or picked up later.

Mowing boats are either made by specialized manufacturers or made by converting conventional boats.
