Combine races

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A combine harvester race is driven with combine harvesters that are equipped with roll bars , safety belts and bucket seats and that can reach speeds of up to 100 km / h during the races.

The origin of these races comes from France , meanwhile there are also many fans of this racing sport in Luxembourg and the Netherlands .

The largest event of this sport is called "Combine Harvester Cross" and takes place every two years on a field between Rambruch and Roodt . It is driven in three racing classes, the race length is three laps, each about 450 meters in length.

There are also Combine Demolition Derbies , especially in the USA , in which disused combine harvesters hit each other. Speed doesn't matter; The winner is whose machine was the last to remain more or less operable. In these fights aimed at willful collisions and damage, the weakly built rear axle is often the first to break, and the front tires of an opposing agricultural machine are often stabbed with the reel.
