Mart Avandi

Märt Avandi (born February 26, 1981 in Rapla , Estonian SSR , Soviet Union ) is an Estonian actor .

Life

Märt Avandi graduated from high school in Rapla in Central Estonia in 1999. In 2004 he graduated from the High School for Performing Arts in Tallinn . Since then he has worked as an actor, mainly at the Endla Theater in Pärnu and at the Eesti Draamateater in Tallinn. He has also appeared in numerous Estonian films, including Malev (2005), Mina olin siin (2008) and Punane elavhõbe (2010). In 2015 he played the lead role in the Finnish-Estonian-German coproduction Die Kinder des Fechters ( Miekkailija , Estonian Vehkleja ).

In 2008 Avandi was a member of the jury for the show Eesti otsib superstaari , the Estonian counterpart to Deutschland sucht den Superstar . On March 12, 2010, Avandi and the actor Ott Sepp directed the show Eesti Laul 2010 , the Estonian qualification for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 . Together with the German comedian Anke Engelke , Märt Avandi hosted the 23rd presentation of the European Film Prize . It took place on December 4, 2010 in the Estonian capital.

In June 2012 Avandi released the song Öö Valge on Õnn with Lenna Kuurmaa .

Märt Avandi married Liis-Katrin Mägi in August 2007. She is the daughter of the Estonian musician Tõnis Mägi . The couple have two sons.
