Métisse (band)
Métisse is an Irish - Ivorian music duo, consisting of the Irish musician and former "The Chapterhouse" member Skully (Dave Sullivan) and the Ivorian singer Aïda Bredou. The band was founded in 1997 in Toulouse , France . The French name of the band means something like "mixture" or "mixture". The music is a mixture of soul , African, Celtic and electronic music. The texts are often a combination of Dioula , English and French words.
The band had their first success with the single Sousoundé . The second single, Boom Boom Bâ, was the theme song in the film A Friend to Fall in Love with . The title was also used in several episodes of the television series Dead Like Me as well as in the film for the series. The title Nomah's Land was also in the TV series Beneath the surface (The Shallow End) , used the fourth episode of the second season.
