The furniture capital return GmbH & Co. KG is a privately held company in the furniture retail, based in Oberhausen.

history

The family company was founded in 1936 by Ferdinand Rück.

In 1976 the furniture store was built at its current location in Oberhausen. After several expansions, it now has 35,000 m² of exhibition space. In 1989, the company was expanded to include a logistics center in the Buschhausen district of Oberhausen. The company premises in Oberhausen meanwhile cover more than 200,000 m².

Villa Rück (Oberhausen) in summer 2014

In 1993 the Möbelstadt Rück built a 25,000 m² furniture store in Pampow / Schwerin. In 1997 another house with 15,000 m² followed in Neubrandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Another house belongs to the group of companies, which operates under the name "Villa Rück - Die Marken" and mainly sells designer furniture in an Art Nouveau villa in the immediate vicinity of the parent company.

In January 2014 it was announced that the owners would sell the company to the XXXL Möbelhäuser Group, which also includes the XXXLutz brand . The intention of the new owners to tear down the so-called "Villa Rück" in favor of expanded parking areas met with broad rejection in Oberhausen after it became known. A citizens' initiative collected around 2,400 signatures for the preservation of the villa within a few weeks.
