Möderndorf (municipality of Hermagor-Pressegger See)

Möderndorf ( Slovene Modrinja vas ) is a district and cadastral municipality of Hermagor .

Möderndorf is located south of the Gail in the bottom of the Gail Valley . The district (OKZ 00446) had 168 inhabitants in 2019; the Mitschig-Möderndorf counting district (ZSP 20305030) had 698 inhabitants. In the middle of the 19th century it was described as the western end of the closed Slovene-speaking area.

In Möderndorf there is the Gailtaler Heimatmuseum in Möderndorf Castle , the late Gothic Martinskirche , a volunteer fire brigade and the natural monument of the Garnitzenklamm , with which the Hermagor ÖAV section has been struggling to get around since 1891.
