The Mölssee is located in the Wattentaler Lizum in the Austrian state of Tyrol at an altitude of 2,240 meters. With an area of 0.0346 km² it is one of the larger lakes in the area. You can reach it via the Wattentalstraße and then walk over the Mölsalm on a rather steep route towards the Mölser Scharte to the lake. Since the region is in a restricted military area, access is not always guaranteed.
The clean mountain lake water has excellent drinking water quality and is home to trout . The water temperature hardly reaches more than 16 ° C even in midsummer.
The lake is drained by the Mölsbach , one of the source streams of the Wattenbach . It has a length of approx. 4.35 kilometers and, together with the Lizumbach , forms the Wattenbach from the Walchen camp .
