Monk pigeons are colored pigeons with colored basic plumage. The head, the long flight feathers, the tail, the tail cover, the wedge, the slippers and the bandages are white. They include:
- the Saxon monk pigeon from the breed group of the Saxon color pigeons ,
- the belatched and smooth-footed South German monk pigeons of the South German color pigeons ,
- the Thurgau monk of the Swiss colored pigeons
- and the Thuringian monk pigeon of the Thuringian colored pigeons .
