Mösting is a 26 km large, very deep moon crater on the mountainous edge of the Sinus Medii , near the middle of the visible half of the moon.

Mösting has a sharp, regular crater wall and is hardly eroded, which indicates a relatively young age. About 70 km to the south is the smaller Mösting A , which was chosen as a reference point for measuring selenographic coordinates in the 19th century because of its precisely round shape . Its coordinates are 3 ° 10'47 "south, 5 ° 09'50" west.
