Mühlendahl is the name of an Estonian family that was first mentioned in Palms in 1729 .

history

The progenitor of the family is Jaak Orroveski ( Estonian : Orro = valley, Veski = mill). A son of his was born in 1729 on the Palms estate owned by Count Pahlen and baptized Jacob Mühlendahl. Jacob's mother Anne died in 1732. He became post commissioner of the Estonian knighthood and administered the important post station Rannapungern on the northern edge of Lake Peipus . His son Jakob Johann was raised to hereditary nobility as an imperial Russian lieutenant colonel in 1794 ; his son Karl was registered with the Estonian knighthood in 1882 with his descent.
