history

Obergeburth is an old monastic name . After the French era and the introduction of Prussian administrative structures, Obergeburth initially formed its own mayor's office in the Gladbach district. In 1835 Obergeburth lost its status as its own mayor and became a rural community in the Gladbach-Land mayor. Since the end of the 19th century, the urban development expanded to the municipality and caused a strong population increase.

On July 15, 1907, the Obergeburth community was renamed Munich-Gladbach-Land . On August 1, 1921, the community was dissolved and incorporated into the city of Munich-Gladbach .
