The Munich Fire Brigade Museum showed the history of the Munich fire brigades . It was opened on July 7, 1979 on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Munich fire brigade and was located near Sendlinger Tor in the old town of Munich . Since April 1, 2019, the museum has been closed until further notice due to extensive renovation and renovation measures at the main fire station.

Around 6,000 exhibits were on display in the museum, including a replica of an air-raid shelter, a replica of a tower parlor, Steinheil 's pyroscope and part of a subway that burned out at Königsplatz in 1983 (car no. 7149). Documents, resources and uniforms were also exhibited.

The sponsor of the museum is the state capital Munich - KVR HA IV fire directorate. Exhibition rooms are also planned for the time after the renovation.
