The Münchner Kreis is a non-profit, registered association that deals with issues of technology, society, the economy and regulation in the field of information and telecommunication technology and the media. He wants to give people in management positions guidance on digital transformation .

Since it was founded in 1974, the association has also dealt with human and social problems related to the introduction of new technologies. A significant part of the work of the Münchner Kreis is reflected in the specialist conferences and congresses that take place several times a year. Their main topics are determined by a specialist committee, which also directs the scientific work of the Münchner Kreis.

The association finances its work primarily through voluntary contributions from its members. It is headed by an executive board chaired by Michael Dowling , professor at the University of Regensburg . The association and board members are representatives of companies in the information and communication industries, the media, politics and science from the disciplines concerned.

Members

Numerous personalities from business, science and politics are members of the Münchner Kreis. They include u. a. the entrepreneur Hubert Burda , the managers Klaus Kleinfeld and Hagen Hultzsch , the university professors Helmut Krcmar and Thomas Hess and the politicians Thomas Sattelberger , Dieter Reiter and Christian Schwarz-Schilling .

Working groups

Various working groups within the association deal with current or future topics in the long term. Their results are presented and discussed in position papers and events. There are currently six working groups:
