The kuk M.III Körting was a semi-rigid impact airship with two ballonets and a water weight control to shift the center of gravity. Its first trip took place on January 1st, 1911 in Fischamend . research

During extensive test drives, research was carried out in the areas of spark telegraphy and photogrammetry for national surveying . In 1914 a worldwide unique panorama photogrammetry device designed by Professor Scheimpflug was installed in the gondola . As a special feature, the Körting should have a radio station from Siemens & Halske installed for test purposes .

Körting disaster

During the Körting disaster on June 20, 1914, the M.III Körting collided with an airplane and crashed.

Trivia

The fish Amender historians club ILF was under the mitkuratieren by him exhibition "kuk Military Institute Aëronautische Fischamend" in HGM Zeltweg a model of the nacelle of M.III Körting in 1:10. This was realized as an in-house project.

In Fischamend today the Körtingstraße and the sign reminds of the airship. It runs in the area of ​​the former military aeronautical institute not far from the Körting airship hangar and airfield.
