Alexander Cassinone

Alexander Cassinone (born December 24, 1866 in Karlsruhe , † July 21, 1931 in Vienna ) was an Austrian mechanical engineer and aviation pioneer .

Life

Cassinone studied mechanical engineering at the Technical Universities of Karlsruhe and Hanover . In Karlsruhe he became a member of the Corps Saxonia Karlsruhe . After completing his studies and extensive trips to the Orient, he became General Director of the Vienna agency of Gebr. Körting AG in 1898 . In the years 1906 to 1909 he worked as a designer of machine parts for submarines . In 1909 he was involved in the construction of the airship M III . Even an active balloonist , he was involved in the committees of early Austrian aviation. He was a committee member and from 1910 to 1921 President of the Aviation Technology Association. In 1910 he was elected Vice President and in 1926 President of the Austrian Aero Club .
