Maximilian Jagielski (* 1828 in Posen ; † September 25, 1876 ) was a Polish publisher in Berlin and Posen.

Live and act

The medical advisor Josef Anton (Józef Antoni) Jagielski (1792–1865), who was born in Poznan, may have been his father. After the Nicolaische Buchhandlung in Berlin split up, Maximilian took over the product range business on July 1, 1858, which from then on operated under the name Nicolai'sche range bookstore (M. Jagielski) . This existed next to the Nicolaische Verlagbuchhandlung ( Gustav Parthey ) .

Two years later Jagielski moved the main business to Poznan. In August 1862 he sold the Berlin bookstore to Ernst Schweigger, who on January 1, 1863 resold it to Friedrich Wreden and Fritz Borstell , who continued it as Nicolai'sche Buchhandlung (Wreden & Borstell) . Jagielski kept the publishing business and the Poznan bookstore, now under the name of M. Jagielski . In 1864 he took over the branch bookstore from Ernst Siegfried Mittler in Posen, which he united with his and ran until 1874. One year after the death of his wife Rosalie, b. Braun, Maximilian Jagielski dies, probably also in Posen, where he lived to the end.

Maximilian Jagielski published books with fiction, historical and medical content in German and Polish.
