MAGE-A1 ( English melanoma antigen A3 ) is a human tumor antigen from the group of the cancer testis antigens .

properties

MAGE-A1 is 309 amino acids in length and 34,342 Da in mass . It has a poly serine tract from position 32 to 36. MAGE-A1 comes as a tumor antigen not in healthy cells before (except in immune privileged spermatocytes ), but often in different tumors expressed . It is therefore a target antigen in the development of cancer vaccines and cancer immunotherapies with adoptive cell transfer .
