In 1992 the NM 152 (2) succeeded the MAN NM 152 . Visually, it largely corresponds to the MAN NM 152. The main differences were the low-pedestal arrangement of the seats and a kink line in the ribbon window. Nevertheless, it was run as its own series and, like its predecessor, was built by MAN (chassis) and Göppel Bus (body) and has an engine output of 155 hp. The 190 PS variant was called NM 192 .

In 1997 the NM 152 (2) and NM 192 were replaced by the MAN NM 223 and in 1998 production was discontinued. Since midibuses can only be used on lines that are not very frequented , the demand for this type is rather low and few examples were built in relation to the normal low-floor bus . Nevertheless, MAN and Göppel is the market leader for midibuses.

In the meantime, the NM 152 (2) and NM 192 are being phased out by most of the transport companies .
