The MELO Group GmbH & Co. KG , MELO Group for short , is an international group of companies based in Munich . The name is made up of the business areas media and logistics . The group currently includes 21 companies at 20 locations in five countries.

history

The MELO group of companies emerged in August 2015 from the press sales force Hermann Trunk, which was founded in Munich in 1945. The wholesaling business is still a central component of the family business. Around 2,000 employees work for the entire group in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Great Britain and the USA.

MELO's business areas are divided into four divisions: Logistic Services, Aviation Services, Media Distribution and Content Creation. In addition, there is MELO Service as a central service unit for affiliated companies and the MELO Group.

The airport services include service and security tasks, purchasing and order picking through to delivery. Logistic Services is responsible for logistics in Germany and Austria. The core business includes parcel and express logistics, temperature-controlled transport (including pharmaceuticals), special logistics, and press sales and media logistics.

The Media Distribution and Content Creation divisions are dedicated to the Group's media activities. The distribution unit for sales and distribution consists of the classic press wholesaling in Germany and Austria ( PGV Austria Trunk ) as well as national and international digital and special sales companies. With the digital kiosk " Media Box ", MELO supplies airlines and hotels with magazines and newspapers.

The MELO Group GmbH & Co. KG is headed by Frank Haiges. Holger Bingmann , who was elected President of the Federal Association of Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services in June 2017 , was Chairman of the MELO Group until January 2020.
