Baden-Württemberg media and film company

The MFG Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg mbH is an institution of the state of Baden-Württemberg and the Südwestrundfunk . The task of the MFG is to promote film culture and the film industry as well as to promote the cultural and creative industries . The MFG acts as a nationwide competence center, is a public cultural and economic promoter and offers support measures tailored to the needs of the industries mentioned.

Areas

MFG is divided into two business areas:

MFG creative

The MFG Kreativ division, founded as MFG Innovation, focuses on networking and mediation activities for the cultural and creative industries as well as on the field of digital culture.

MFG film funding

The MFG Film Fund promotes culturally valuable film productions for cinema and television through measures such as development funding, project preparation and production funding and distribution and cinema promotion.

Managing directors

From its foundation in 1995, the business was led by Klaus Haasis (MFG Innovation division) and Gabriele Röthemeyer (MFG Film Funding division). After 18 years, they both left the company at the end of 2013. Carl Bergengruen has been the sole managing director of MFG Medien- und Filmgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg since January 1, 2014.
