MIP-1β (synonym CCL4 , English CC chemokine ligand 4 ) is a cytokine from the family of CC chemokines .

properties

CCL4 binds to the coreceptor of HIV- 1, CCR5 , and thereby competitively inhibits the infection of cells with HIV-1 . CCL4 is the major HIV-inhibiting factor of cytotoxic T cells . CCL4 is mainly formed by cytotoxic T cells with a low perforin content. CCL4 binds to CCL3 . It also binds to CCR1 and CCR2 isoform B.
