The present company was founded in 1990. One year after it was founded (1991), the company took over the former gearbox manufacturing facility of the Eisenach automobile plant . In addition, the production of further transmission components started this year. In 1994 the development of the first mass balancing systems for General Motors and Ford began .
Production of the bevel gear axle drives with Gleason circular arc gearing started in 1995/96. At the end of 2000, the spatial capacities on the site of the former automobile factory were fully utilized due to the rapid growth of the company. In March 2001, the construction of MITEC engine.tec gmbh Krauthausen began , which completed its first production acceptance just six months after the start of construction.
After a lost legal battle over claims for damages with the automobile manufacturer Ford before the Meiningen district court , the company filed for bankruptcy on November 29, 2018 . Around 1010 employees worldwide are affected, including around 650 in Eisenach and Krauthausen .
