The MKS Kluczbork is a Polish football club from Kluczbork in Opole . The club currently plays in the 3rd division , the fourth-highest division in Poland.

history

MKS Kluczbork was created in 2003 through the merger of the KKS Kluczbork and LZS Kuniów associations . The club started in the 4th division, the fifth highest division in Poland, and finished third in its first season behind TOR Dobrzeń Wielki and Skalnik Gracze . After three more years in the 4th division, the club made it to the 3rd division in the 2006/07 season . The club then rose directly to the 2nd division and was there first with 67 points, ahead of the favorite Pogoń Stettin . This was the first time the club was promoted to the first division .

This success was short-lived, however, because after having landed in the front midfield in 2009/10 , the club was relegated back to the second division in the 2010/11 season . In Puchar Polski 2011/12 one of the club's greatest successes was achieved by reaching the last sixteen. After three years in the 2nd division , the club became champions and thus rose again to the 1st division . The following season they were fifteenth, but could directly hold the class due to the withdrawal of Zawisza Bydgoszcz's license . In the 2016/17 season , the club was the last to relegate to the 2nd division. After another relegation, the MKS Kluczbork has been competing in the fourth class 3rd division since 2018.
